Design Muscat 2026
The Scientific College of Design is established upon the firm belief in and strong advocacy of the role of the arts as an agent of progressive change, and as a powerful catalyst in shaping the thoughts and actions of our national and global communities.
Design Muscat is a platform to share meaningful stories with new audiences. Partners create the foundation of the symposium by connecting the city with various staged activities, including presentations, workshops, talks and more. The symposium’s unique offering brings together a diverse range of creative practices in Oman. Speakers from all corners of the regional and international design community will share new perspectives on how design can preserve national identity through innovation. The sessions will be hosted at the Scientific College of Design in Muscat.
Design Muscat 2024
Design Muscat 2024 will explore global narratives, case studies, challenges, and policy recommendations through the experiences of practitioners, academic research, and the innovations of designers. Design Muscat 2024 will be an interdisciplinary space for debate and international networking in the disciplines of art & design to preserve national identity through hybrid presentations and interactive workshops.
Art & Design Boast Economies
Design Muscat 2018: Art & Design Boast Economies reflected national and international experiences such as rebranding the identity of the city of Porto, Portugal; MBC’s character development; contemporary architecture in Alexandria, Egypt; contemporary art in Oman; landscape architecture response to tourism; Omani fashion design approach to international markets.

Design Muscat 2022: Rethinking Creative Industries Role Towards Sustainability explored how the creative industries responded to sustainability goals. Specifically, the themes focused on the creative industries of art & design disciplines in response to Responsible Consumption and Production in terms of materials and techniques used, and Sustainable Cities and Communities.
